The night train arrived in Zugdidi at 6:30 and we hopped on a marshrutka to Mestia. It was a 3.5 hour drive (about 140KM), which could have been shorter had it not been for a couple of long stops. Valeria and Nadav were on the same marshrutka as us. We also stay at the same guesthouse by the name of Nino, which comes highly recommended. We arrived at around 11:00.
Mestia is a nice place situated in a valley surrounded by massive mountains with snowy tops. Due to the late hour of arrival, we did two things today (together with Valeria and Nadav):
1. Cable cart - presented phenomenal views of Mestia and surrounding mountains. Once on top, there's a restaurant and a great sitting area with a fabulous view.
2. Chalaadi Glacier - a two hour round trip hike to nice little glacier. On our way there we bumped into a nice doggy dog who joined us both ways. I named him Georgi Dogashvili..
