Today was yet again a laid back day in Tbilisi. It started with a fine Nutella-based breakfast at this place that has great freshly made oven bread. Unfortunately it only comes with stuffing, so one can imagine what the plate looked like after stuffing was removed...
On we went to the main museum on Rustavelli Ave (main ave), that has artifacts from as far back as 5000 years ago.
Next, we got up the mountain using a really cool train-like lift (Tbilisi is in a valley). The view was truly remarkable. The place had a nice restaurant that served eclairs. After being told they were fresh, I went for one. Turns out it was harder than a rock..
At 21:10 we got on the night train to Zugdidi. The train was filled with Israelis (as was to be expected), among whom were Valeria and Nadav, who shared the same guesthouse with us in Sighnaghi. This Georgian state-of-the-art bullet train covers the 335KM distance in only 9 hours… We got a first class sleeping cabin, who's AC was incredibly strong, making it impossible to stay in the cabin. The venting area was real big (about 1 sqm). Using exceptional engineering skills we MacGyvered a cover for the entire venting area. It utilized the plastic bags that were used to cover the trekking poles when checked in along with the remaining pieces of duct tape still stuck to them. What a feat!
